Join us at a virtual letter writing party for the 2023 elections in Ohio and Virginia. We’ll show you everything you need to know to prepare Get-out-the-Vote letters to inform Ohio and Virginia voters about upcoming elections. The entire Virginia legislature–all 40 Senate seats and all 100 Delegate seats–are up for grabs in 2023 using new maps. The only thing standing between Governor Glenn Youngkin and banning abortion in Virginia–one of the last states in the South where abortion is legal and accessible–is the narrow Democratic majority in the Virginia Senate. We must hold the Senate and hopefully flip the House to stymie Youngkin’s plans.

In Ohio, reproductive rights advocates just submitted nearly twice the number of required signatures to put a measure that protects abortion access in the state on the November 2023 ballot against the fervent wishes of the gerrymandered Ohio legislature. Not only is reproductive health care on the ballot in 2023, but the ground we plow now will also support Senator Sherrod Brown’s reelection effort in 2024. This Ohio Senate seat is a must-win for Democrats to hold or expand our majority in the Senate.
