Swing Left East Bay CA13 Bi-Weekly Canvass

We lost California’s 13th Congressional District by 564 votes in 2022. We should have won that district in 2022 and we need to win it in 2024 if we are going to retake Congress. The last six months should have made it clear to all of us how important it is to control Congress. If we want to win next year, we need to start contacting voters. We cannot parachute in a week or two before the election and expect marginal voters to turn out and vote for Democrats.

So Swing Left East Bay is starting bi-weekly canvass trips to the crucial northern part of the district that was almost completely ignored by Adam Grey’s campaign in 2022, but is convenient to volunteers from the Bay Area.

You will get a walking list that includes only likely Democratic voters. So you will be talking to friendly people who want to hear from you. It is very unlikely that you will run across any Republicans at all. We’re telling them about the stakes in the upcoming election, and asking them if they’ll commit to remind three friends to vote. If they agree, you will have them fill out a postcard which you will then store and mail back shortly before Election Day. This approach has been shown to significantly increase a voter’s likelihood of voting and also to increase the likelihood of people in their house or neighborhood voting.
