Democratic Alliance for Action – Virtual Officer Nomination Meeting

Annual Meeting Dues are Due
In order to participate in the upcoming Officer Nominations Meeting and Elections Meeting, members must be in good standing. Annual Dues are due for all members. Please see below for the bylaws on Membership and Election of Officers, and pay your 2021 $20 Membership Dues prior to the Nomination Meeting. Dues can be paid via the Actblue link below or by mailing a check.
If you would like to mail a check, please email [email protected] the following information: Name, Phone number, Email, Occupation, Job Title, and Address. If you mail a check without notifying us, we cannot guarantee you will be marked as a member in good standing.
Credentialing will begin at 6:00PM and close at 7:00PM.
The Zoom conference room will open at 6:00PM, 1 hour before the start of the meeting, with credentialing closing at 7:00PM. We will keep track of people as they are admitted into the Zoom; it is important that you use your real name. You will be put into a temporary waiting room before being admitted to the meeting.
If you have paid your 2021 Membership Dues, you will receive an email stating your eligibility on nominating, voting, and running for an officer position. This notification will be sent out no later than the end of the day on February 19th. If you’re unsure if you paid your dues and do not receive a notification email, please email [email protected].
DAA Officer Election Rules & Procedures*
Notification of Nominations
Eligible candidates will be notified via email of their nomination and eligibility to be a candidate within 72 hours of the Nomination. The Membership will also be notified via email of all nominated candidates who have accepted nomination.
Election of Officers
All members in good standing who are credentialed in at the March Election Meeting will be provided an electronic ballot at the email that they used to pay their dues, or at the email provided to [email protected] if they paid via check.
All Officers shall be elected by the Membership at the March Election Meeting of the organization and shall assume transitional duties at the end of that meeting. The new Board shall be installed at the start of the April Membership Meeting. They shall serve for a term of two years. A vacancy in any office shall be filled by appointment by the President or acting President and ratified by the Executive Board. All Officers must be Voting Members in Good Standing (see Article IX) of the organization for at least 120 days prior to the election date.

Executive Board Election Meeting
The virtual Election Meeting will be held Thursday March 25, 2021 at 7:00PM via Zoom. The election will be held virtually via a secure online election platform such as Election Buddy.
The new Executive Board will not take effect until April 2021, as per DAA bylaws. The LACDP will work with the new Board within the transition period to make sure they have all the information and resources to be successful.
