In the 2018 midterms, Democratic newcomers swept all five of Southern California’s Congressional swing districts: four Orange County districts, plus CA25 just north of Los Angeles.
These Republican-held districts were deemed vulnerable because they voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.
The success in each district was aided by the early formation of an Action Council: a coalition of grassroots organizations, local Democratic clubs, labor unions and PACs working together and sharing a common, web-based calendar of events designed to engage voters to flip Congressional seats.
This page contains links to the Councils still active, and resources below for anyone who wishes to start a new one.

What Political Groups Can Talk To What Political Groups
In the belief that many published answers to this question are needlessly complex, intimidating, and confusing, two organizations, SoCal Blue and NorCal Blue, created the simple “What political groups can talk to what political groups” graphic on the left, with the advice and approval of Sandler-Reiff, the premier Washington law firm in the field of campaign law. High School Voter Registration Toolkit
Macy Bartlett is a current freshman at UC Berkeley, but in her junior year of high school she held a voter registration drive. After months of planning and organizing, she and her team registered or pre-registered 214 students to vote in just 3 hours.
Inspired to help other students like herself host drives at their own schools, she wrote this toolkit–a one-stop shop for all information regarding hosting a voter registration drive in a high school. It includes FAQs on voting, pre-written PA announcements, robocall scripts, explanations on the registration form, political party descriptions, a flyer for advertising around campus, and more.
She can be contacted at [email protected] with any questions, comments, or concerns.
